Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger (fresh, grated or ground)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional for extra flavor)
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove any moisture.
- In a bowl, combine honey, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, smoked paprika, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.
- Coat the chicken wings with the sauce mixture, tossing them well to ensure they’re evenly coated. Let the wings marinate for at least 30 minutes for maximum flavor.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, or place them in the air fryer basket.
- For Oven: Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden and crispy.
- For Air Fryer: Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Once cooked, remove the wings and drizzle with any remaining sauce from the bowl.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, then serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking or air frying.
- Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less sriracha or red pepper flakes to suit your taste.
- For a smokier flavor, use smoked paprika and add a touch of liquid smoke to the sauce.
