Description

These Taco Cupcakes are a fun twist on traditional tacos, featuring layers of seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and crunchy wonton wrappers. Topped with sour cream, salsa, and green onions, these bite-sized treats are perfect for parties or a casual dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Base:
    • 1 lb Ground Beef (or turkey)
    • 1 packet Taco Seasoning
    • 24 Wonton Wrappers
  • Cheese Filling:
    • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
    • 1 cup Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
  • Toppings:
    • ½ cup Sour Cream
    • ½ cup Salsa
    • ¼ cup Chopped Green Onions
  • Optional Toppings:
    • Diced Tomatoes
    • Guacamole
    • Sliced Jalapeños
    • Sliced Black Olives

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
  • Cook Beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Assemble: Place a wonton wrapper in each muffin cup. Add a layer of beef, then sprinkle with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Top with another wonton wrapper, and repeat layers.
  • Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and wrappers are golden.
  • Add Toppings: Let cool slightly, then top with sour cream, salsa, and green onions.
  • Customize: Add any optional toppings as desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a healthier version, you can use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasoning to your taste, adding extra chili powder or cumin for more flavor.
  • These can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
