This flavorful and aromatic Tandoori Yogurt Marinade infuses chicken with spices like cumin, cinnamon, and red pepper, combined with creamy yogurt and fresh ginger. Perfect for grilling, this marinade ensures tender, juicy chicken with a delicious, zesty flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix together yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, cinnamon, red pepper, black pepper, salt, ginger, and garlic.
  • Place chicken in the mixture. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 8 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.
  • Lightly oil the grill grate. Discard marinade, and grill chicken 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier marinade, you can increase the amount of ground red pepper or add cayenne pepper.
