Description

Texas Trash Dip is a crowd-pleasing, cheesy delight that combines layers of savory refried beans, creamy cheese, and flavorful spices. Perfect for game days or casual gatherings, this dip is sure to be a hit with tortilla chips for dipping.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 package (1 oz) taco seasoning mix
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies, undrained
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the refried beans, cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning mix, diced green chilies, and salsa. Mix until well blended.
  • Spread Mixture: Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded Mexican blend cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the bean mixture.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Cool and Garnish: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro, if desired.
  • Serve: Serve warm with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • For a spicier dip, use hot salsa and add extra diced green chilies.
