Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced

Instructions

  • Prep the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
  • Make the Coating: In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Dredge the Wings: Dip the wings in buttermilk, then dredge them in the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the Wings: Fry the wings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes per batch.
  • Drain the Wings: Use a slotted spoon to transfer the wings to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, and minced garlic.
  • Toss in Sauce: Toss the crispy wings in the Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated.
  • Serve: Serve the wings immediately, garnished with extra sauce if desired.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the spiciness of the Bang Bang sauce by modifying the amount of sriracha to your taste.
