Impress your guests this holiday season with a traditional Yule Log Cake! Rich, chocolatey, and festive, this classic dessert is a showstopper that brings warmth and cheer to your celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into a lined baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • While the cake is still warm, carefully roll it up with a clean towel and let it cool completely.
  • Once cool, unroll the cake, spread whipped cream over the surface, and roll it back up.
  • Cover the rolled cake with chocolate ganache and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • If you want a more decadent cake, you can fill it with additional layers of flavored whipped cream or frosting.
  • Be careful when rolling the cake while it’s still warm to prevent cracking.
