Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 24 individually wrapped caramels
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the pecan halves in small clusters on the prepared baking sheet.
- Toast the pecans in the preheated oven until lightly golden, about 5 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, for 1 to 3 minutes until smooth.
- Spoon small dollops of melted chocolate over each pecan cluster to create the turtle’s body and head. Let the chocolate set.
- Unwrap the caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl with the heavy cream.
- Heat in the microwave for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until the caramel is fully melted and smooth.
- Spoon small dollops of caramel over the chocolate-covered pecans to create the turtle’s shell. Let the caramel set.
Notes
- Make sure to stir the chocolate and caramel frequently while melting to prevent burning.
- These candies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- For a slightly different flavor, you can use milk chocolate or dark chocolate in place of semisweet chocolate.
