Description

These delightful Turtle Candies are a perfect blend of toasted pecans, smooth caramel, and rich semisweet chocolate. A quick and easy treat that’s as delicious as it is beautiful—perfect for gifting or enjoying yourself!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 24 individually wrapped caramels
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the pecan halves in small clusters on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Toast the pecans in the preheated oven until lightly golden, about 5 minutes.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, for 1 to 3 minutes until smooth.
  • Spoon small dollops of melted chocolate over each pecan cluster to create the turtle’s body and head. Let the chocolate set.
  • Unwrap the caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl with the heavy cream.
  • Heat in the microwave for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until the caramel is fully melted and smooth.
  • Spoon small dollops of caramel over the chocolate-covered pecans to create the turtle’s shell. Let the caramel set.

Notes

  • Make sure to stir the chocolate and caramel frequently while melting to prevent burning.
  • These candies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • For a slightly different flavor, you can use milk chocolate or dark chocolate in place of semisweet chocolate.
