- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chunks.
- Scoop out large portions of dough (about 1/4 cup each) and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spaced apart to allow for spreading.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are crisp but the centers are still slightly soft. Cool on the baking sheets for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
