A rich and hearty chili recipe made with ground beef, kidney beans, and tomatoes, seasoned to perfection for a deliciously comforting meal. This homemade version of Wendy’s famous chili will warm you up on a cold day.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 cans kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 package chili seasoning mix
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and green pepper, and cook until vegetables are softened.
  • Stir in the kidney beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chili seasoning mix, and water.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for at least 2 hours.
  • Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Adjust the chili seasoning mix to taste for more or less spice.
  • For an extra depth of flavor, you can cook the chili longer than 2 hours.
