Description

This White Pizza is a flavorful and creamy pizza, made without tomato sauce, featuring a blend of fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and Parmesan cheeses, topped with fragrant garlic, a hint of crushed red pepper flakes, and fresh basil for a savory, satisfying dish. It’s perfect for pizza lovers who crave a more delicate, cheese-centric pizza experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely grated
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella, torn into small pieces
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • ⅓ cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, preheat it as well.
  • Sprinkle a thin layer of yellow cornmeal onto a pizza peel or baking sheet to prevent sticking.
  • Roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness and transfer it to the prepared surface.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the dough and use a brush or your hands to spread it evenly.
  • Evenly distribute the grated garlic and crushed red pepper flakes over the dough.
  • Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  • Scatter the fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the pizza dough.
  • Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  • Slice and serve hot. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone or preheat your baking sheet.
  • You can make your own pizza dough at home or use store-bought dough for convenience.
  • If you like a stronger garlic flavor, feel free to increase the amount of garlic.
  • For added flavor, sprinkle a bit of grated Parmesan on top before serving.
