Description

These adorable Witch Hat Cupcakes are the perfect Halloween treat! Chocolate cupcakes topped with a chocolate ice cream cone turned into a witch’s hat, frosted with orange icing and decorated with fun sprinkles. They’re as delicious as they are spooky!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can chocolate frosting
  • 12 chocolate ice cream cones
  • Orange food coloring
  • Sprinkles or decorations of your choice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  • Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions (usually combine cake mix with water, vegetable oil, and eggs).
  • Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.
  • In a small bowl, mix a few drops of orange food coloring into the chocolate frosting until the desired color is achieved.
  • Frost each cupcake with the orange frosting, smoothing it out evenly.
  • Carefully place a chocolate ice cream cone upside down on top of each frosted cupcake, forming a “witch’s hat.”
  • Decorate with sprinkles or other Halloween-themed decorations to resemble a witch’s hat (optional: use black sprinkles for extra flair or candy eyes for a fun touch).

Notes

  • If you prefer homemade frosting, you can use a simple buttercream frosting tinted orange instead of store-bought chocolate frosting.
  • Make sure the cupcakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent the icing from melting.
  • For extra creativity, use black licorice strings or candy for the “brim” of the witch’s hat.
