Description

These crispy and juicy chicken tenderloins are made in the air fryer for a healthier, faster version of Cracker Barrel’s classic recipe. Marinated in buttermilk and seasoned with a blend of spices, they’re coated in a light flour mixture for the perfect crunch. Ready in just under 50 minutes, these chicken tenderloins are the ideal meal for busy nights or casual gatherings.

  • 1 lb chicken tenderloins
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Place the chicken tenderloins in a bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, making sure to coat evenly.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the chicken tenderloins in a single layer.
  • Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

  • For extra crispiness, you can spray the chicken with a little more cooking spray halfway through cooking.
  • Adjust the cooking time depending on the size of the chicken tenderloins and the model of your air fryer.
