Description

This creamy and comforting Baked Mac and Cheese features tender macaroni in a rich cheddar cheese sauce, topped with golden breadcrumbs for the ultimate baked pasta dish.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook macaroni according to package instructions.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth.
  • Gradually whisk in milk until thickened.
  • Stir in cheese until melted.
  • Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
  • Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a blend of cheeses, such as sharp cheddar, gouda, or Monterey Jack. You can also add a dash of mustard or cayenne pepper to the cheese sauce for extra flavor.
