- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in milk until thickened.
- Stir in cheese until melted.
- Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes
For a richer flavor, use a blend of cheeses, such as sharp cheddar, gouda, or Monterey Jack. You can also add a dash of mustard or cayenne pepper to the cheese sauce for extra flavor.
