Description

This Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender flank steak, crisp broccoli, and a savory, slightly sweet sauce. With a touch of ginger and a kick of red pepper flakes, it’s the perfect meal to serve over rice or noodles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add sliced flank steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour in the soy sauce mixture and stir to coat the beef and broccoli.
  • Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • You can use other vegetables such as bell peppers, snow peas, or carrots to customize the stir-fry.
  • For extra heat, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a splash of sriracha sauce.
  • If you prefer a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
