- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced flank steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the soy sauce mixture and stir to coat the beef and broccoli.
- Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
- You can use other vegetables such as bell peppers, snow peas, or carrots to customize the stir-fry.
- For extra heat, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a splash of sriracha sauce.
- If you prefer a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
