Description

This Cabbage and Ground Beef dish is a flavorful and satisfying one-pot meal. Featuring tender cabbage, seasoned ground beef, and a rich tomato broth, it’s an easy and nutritious option for dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add Vegetables: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
  • Combine Ingredients: Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes (with their juice), beef broth, soy sauce, paprika, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer: Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the flavors have melded together.
  • Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Adjust the seasoning according to your taste. For added spice, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes.
