This creamy and indulgent pasta dish combines succulent shrimp, smoky sausage, and crispy bacon with a rich cheese sauce. It’s a comforting meal that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1/2 lb bacon, chopped
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the Bacon and Sausage:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside with the bacon.
  • Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  • Prepare the Sauce:
Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Pour in the heavy cream, and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheeses, and cook until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Combine Everything:
Add the cooked pasta, bacon, sausage, and shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat with the cheese sauce. Season with dried basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until everything is heated through.
  • Serve:
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. You can also substitute the smoked sausage with your favorite type of sausage or adjust the cheese types for a different flavor.
