This twist on the classic Chicken Cordon Bleu features a delicious meatloaf filled with layers of savory ham and melted Swiss cheese. It’s a comforting, hearty dish that combines all the flavors you love from the traditional Cordon Bleu in an easy-to-make, family-friendly meatloaf form.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Press half of the chicken mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan.
  • Layer ham slices on top of the chicken mixture.
  • Layer cheese slices on top of the ham.
  • Top with the remaining chicken mixture, pressing down to seal the edges.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sprinkle some Italian seasoning or dried herbs into the chicken mixture.
  • Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a light salad for a complete meal.
  • For a crispier crust, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.
