- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- ½ cup sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the milk and boiling water.
- Add the dry active yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a separate large bowl, combine the yeast mixture with the flour, sugar, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Knead the dough until smooth, then cover with a towel and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into donut shapes.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the donuts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- While the donuts are still warm, coat them with sugar.
