Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Place the chicken breasts or thighs in the bottom of the slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix the Gravy:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning mix, chicken broth, milk, flour, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth and combined.
- Pour Over the Chicken:
- Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the chicken in the slow cooker. Make sure the chicken is well covered with the gravy.
- Cook:
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
- Shred and Serve:
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the gravy in the slow cooker, stirring to combine.
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for a complete meal!
Notes
For a thicker gravy, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir into the gravy during the last 30 minutes of cooking. This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed vegetables or a simple side salad.
