For the Steak:
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt & pepper to taste
For the Shrimp Scampi:
- 300g (10 oz) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Steak:
- Season steaks generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add steaks and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust to your preference).
- Add garlic and butter to the pan during the last minute of cooking, spooning the melted butter over the steak.
- Remove steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
- Prepare the Shrimp Scampi:
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in white wine and lemon juice.
- Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.
- Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Sprinkle with parsley, chili flakes, and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve:
- Plate the steak and top it with shrimp scampi and its sauce.
- Garnish with extra parsley and a wedge of lemon.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken broth for white wine if you prefer a non-alcoholic version.
- Adjust the red chili flakes for more or less spice based on your preference.
