This Steak and Shrimp Scampi recipe combines perfectly cooked steaks with succulent shrimp in a flavorful garlic butter sauce. The combination of savory steak and zesty shrimp scampi creates a luxurious, restaurant-quality meal that’s sure to impress.


Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Shrimp Scampi:

  • 300g (10 oz) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

 

  1. Cook the Steak:
    • Season steaks generously with salt and pepper.
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add steaks and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust to your preference).
    • Add garlic and butter to the pan during the last minute of cooking, spooning the melted butter over the steak.
    • Remove steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp Scampi:
    • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Stir in white wine and lemon juice.
    • Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.
    • Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
    • Sprinkle with parsley, chili flakes, and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Serve:
    • Plate the steak and top it with shrimp scampi and its sauce.
    • Garnish with extra parsley and a wedge of lemon.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken broth for white wine if you prefer a non-alcoholic version.
  • Adjust the red chili flakes for more or less spice based on your preference.
